What grim historical designation did both Kraków and Piotrków Trybunalski share during World War II?
Both Kraków and Piotrków Trybunalski were designated as Jewish ghettos by the Nazis during World War II. The first large ghetto of the war was established in Piotrków Trybunalski on October 8, 1939, followed by others like the Łódź Ghetto and the Warsaw Ghetto. In Kraków, the establishment of its ghetto in 1941 led to the displacement of ethnic Polish families from their homes.
