Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore, a titan of Bengali arts and social reformation, is honored throughout East India . His legacy includes over 2,230 "Tagore Songs", 12 novels and novellas, 102 works in India's National Gallery of Modern Art, and much more. The movement for self-rule found a powerful voice in his poetry, and the street formerly known as Chitpur Road was renamed Rabindra Sarani in his memory. And of course, his Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.
