New Mexico hosts the New Mexico Dance Fiesta every September in Albuquerque, an event sanctioned by the United Country Western Dance Council and the oldest dance competition in the state. Oklahoma holds a similar United Country Western Dance Council event every April, the Oklahoma Dance Rush in Oklahoma City.
