American poet Lydia Sigourney's 1845 book of poems includes one called 'Sunrise at New London'. It also has a poem about a pretty coal-mining valley in northeastern Pennsylvania, near the city of Wilkes-Barre. This same valley is where Buck Rogers gets trapped in an abandoned coal mine in a 1928 sci-fi story. What is that Pennsylvania valley called?
In her 1845 book Scenes in My Native Land, Lydia Sigourney included the poem 'Sunrise at New London' about New London, Connecticut. The same book contains Lydia Sigourney's poem 'Vale of Wyoming', celebrating the Wyoming Valley in northeastern Pennsylvania.
