This yearly award has gone to La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego (1993), Yale Rep (1991), Goodman Theatre in Chicago (1992), Berkeley Rep (1997) and the Old Globe in San Diego (1984). Which US state is home to the 1983 winner, the long-running Shakespeare festival based in Ashland?
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland won the Regional Theatre Tony Award in 1983, one of the earliest US winners of the honor. Ten years later, in 1993, the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego received the same Regional Theatre Tony Award.
