Bilbao. The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao opened in 1997 and quickly became one of the most famous buildings in the world. Robert Rauschenberg's touring show ended its journey there in 1999, after starting at the original Guggenheim Museum in New York. Two decades later, in 2018 and 2019, his 'The 1/4 Mile' show was mounted at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
