The American pop artist Jeff Koons, famous for his giant shiny stainless-steel 'Balloon Dog' sculpture that sold for $58.4 million in 2013, got an honorary degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008. The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford opened way back in 1683, making it the oldest public museum in Britain. Its 2019 show was Jeff Koons's first-ever museum exhibition in the UK. Koons had earlier received an honorary degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008.
