In India, Mohali's eight multipurpose sports complexes include facilities for field hockey (alongside cricket, football, swimming and tennis), and in 2006 a Pakistani sports complex opened for field hockey (among other sports) in a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa city 60 km northeast of Peshawar. Mardan, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, saw its Mardan Sports Complex open in 2006 with facilities for cricket, football, field hockey, swimming and basketball; the shared sport links the city to India's Mohali, whose eight multipurpose complexes also feature field hockey.
